Melanie is a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) possessing a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation.
Melanie maintains an active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and is approved for Private Practice.
Melanie is an EMDR Certified Therapist and a Gottman Relationship Checkup approved provider.

DownloadMelanie uses a client focused strength-based, collaborative, trauma informed, holistic, and integrative approach, drawing on the wisdom and interventions of many therapy models and the strengths of the individual, couple or family. She is focused on helping clients heal, manage their lives well, and form healthy relationships with themselves and others. Melanie respects clients’ individual spiritual and faith-based traditions as well as those who do not wish to engage in conversations of spirituality.

All sessions are 90 minutes with a fee of $300 per session.
Some insurance providers cover Melanie's services and some do not. It is best to check with your insurer. Melanie’s services may also be claimed by most health spending account benefits. Please see Melanie's Credentials for more information,
Receipts that are not submitted for insurance claims may be tax deductible.
Fees are paid in full at the beginning of each appointment unless alternate third party payment arrangements have been made in advance.
Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Counselling doesn’t last forever. Melanie’s goal is to get you back into your life as quickly as possible.
The number and frequency of sessions depends on the nature of the situation and how much distress you are experiencing. Usually sessions will be more frequent at the outset to get some good momentum – then, sessions can be spread out as change occurs.
Appointments may be changed or cancelled with 48 hours notice.
Because the time is set aside for you and no one else can use that time if you don’t show up, you will be charged for the session if you don’t give 48 hours notice.
Melanie will be retiring from private practice at the end of Dec 2024. Due to approaching retirement Melanie will not be accepting new clients.
Sessions are hosted virtually via a secure online portal and are 90 mins in length at a cost of $300/90 minute session.
